POSITION TITLE: Inventory Control Clerk

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager

LOCATION: Orlando/Dundee, FL

POSITION SUMMARY The Inventory Control Clerk oversees plant-level inventory management, physical counts, and stock accuracy. This role ensures seamless communication between production staff and management, maintains accurate data in inventory management systems, and actively identifies discrepancies to keep plant operations running smoothly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Cycle Counts & Audits: Conduct daily and weekly cycle counts against booked inventory. Request and execute random audit lists and physical stock checks.

• Reconciliation & Reporting: Record physical counts, process posted reconciliations, and track "On Hold" or damaged inventory in alignment with quality control standards.

• Backlog & Shortage Analysis: Perform daily reviews of order backlogs to identify and mitigate potential stock shortages before production is impacted.

• Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Partner with production teams and cross-train with the Customer Service Department to streamline order fulfillment and inventory visibility.

• Safety & Operations: Maintain a safe, clean, and positive work environment. Promptly elevate operational issues or inventory discrepancies to the Operations Manager or Production Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

• Preferred: 1–3 years of inventory or data-entry experience in a manufacturing environment (corrugated packaging industry experience is a major plus).

Technical & Mathematical Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and basic computer data entry.

• Working knowledge of plant inventory software and Quality Management Systems.

• Strong basic math skills: capability to calculate rates, ratios, percentages, proportions, and volumes.

Core Competencies

• Communication: Ability to write clear reports, read operational manuals, and effectively collaborate across all levels of plant staff.

• Problem-Solving: Strong critical-thinking skills with the ability to resolve inventory discrepancies with limited supervision.

• Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and navigate a active manufacturing floor. Must have full color vision, depth perception, and distance/close focus.

• Work Environment: Comfortable working in a loud, fast-paced plant environment around moving mechanical equipment, varying temperatures, and airborne particles.
