Job summary

US FOODS is seeking an Inventory Control Clerk in Boca Raton, FL to maintain accurate inventory levels and product quality. You will perform essential clerical functions and manage records to support an efficient order and shipping index that meets customer expectations.

Responsibilities include daily counts, exception research, report preparation, and pallet movement in varied storage environments. A high school diploma and 3 years in inventory control are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• A minimum of three years job experience in Inventory Control or clerical work in a distribution center.
• HACCP experience preferred.
• Computer literacy in MS Office and Windows-based applications.
• Good written and verbal communication with strong math and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and prioritize tasks.
• Team-oriented with cross-department collaboration.
• Ability to operate powered industrial trucks with appropriate certification.
• Ability to work in cold environments (0F–34F).

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inventory counts and audits with detailed documentation.
• Research transactions and exceptions to determine root causes and resolutions.
• Prepare, compile, and retain reports and records in printed and electronic form.
• Identify products in inventory database and verify dates.
• Execute Inventory Reclass/Transfer tasks and reconciliations.
• Process driver returns and handle related documentation.
• Reconcile routes, invoices and other documents.
• Process debit/credit adjustments with accurate reason codes.
• Support warehouse logistics with related clerical tasks and audits.
• Move and stage pallet loads using material handling equipment.
• Maintain safety and food safety standards; follow timekeeping and attendance policies.
• Work across office and ambient/refrigerated/frozen storage environments.

As a US FOODS® as an Inventory Control Clerk you will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels and product quality by performing essential clerical functions, including records compilation and retention, computer updates and requisition preparation. Delivering timely and accurate inventory and adjustment records to support an order and shipping index that exceeds Customer expectations. Complete essential Returns & Refusals functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform daily inventory counts and audits and provide detailed documentation of results.

Research transactions and exceptions to derive root cause and provide resolution.

Request, prepare, compile and retain reports and records in printed and electronic form.

Identify products in inventory database; Identify code dates on products.

Perform full range of Inventory Reclass/Transfer functions.

Evaluate, verify and process Driver returned products.

Reconcile Routes, Invoices and other documents.

Process debit and credit adjustments while utilizing accurate reason codes.

Perform related clerical tasks and audits to support warehouse logistics.

Move and stage pallet loads with material handling equipment.

Adhere to Company standards for Safety, product handling and Food Safety.

Keep timecard record to ensure accurate time and attendance reporting.

Adhere to Division Attendance Policy.

Work in multiple environments, including office as well as ambient, refrigerated and frozen storage areas.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

A minimum of three years job experience, Inventory Control or other Clerical in a Distribution Center setting.

HACCP experience preferred

Computer literacy - MS Office, electronic inventory database, Windows based applications.

Able to communicate effectively, written and verbal; Possess strong math skills, excellent organizational practices with a high attention to detail.

Able to resolve routine problems of typical scope; Analyze complex scenarios; Prioritize job tasks of varying frequency; Perform with limited Supervision.

Possess and practice strong teamwork skills; Serve as resource to others and provide inter-department support.

Ability to operate and become certified on Powered Industrial Trucks (Pallet Jack, Stock Picker, et al).

Ability to work in environments between 0F and 34F degrees

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $24 and $28. This role will also receive overtime compensation and shift differential where applicable.
