Position Summary/Objective:

The primary objective of an inventory control associate is to effectively manage inventory levels across multiple locations to meet demand while minimizing costs and maximizing efficiency. This involves monitoring inventory and tracking movements accurately using inventory management systems. Quality control and space optimization are crucial aspects, ensuring incoming inventory meets standards and storage areas are efficiently utilized. Ultimately, the goal is to maintain optimal inventory levels to support business operations and enhance customer satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of Product, Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Inventory Control processes (receiving, replenishments, cycle counts) to prevent inventory discrepancies.
  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments, utilizing a WMS handheld scanner to process items, reject any damaged goods, and document any shortages, promptly reporting findings to management for resolution
  • Perform system directed and ad-hoc inventory counts on handheld device to ensure all inventory is accurate, physically, and systematically
  • Thoroughly investigate and rectify any discrepancies in inventory quantities and locations, coordinating closely with management for resolution
  • Unpack and examine incoming shipments from mail truck – which requires lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds
  • Verify that both incoming and existing products are accurately labeled with the appropriate size labels and barcodes
  • Restock inventory utilizing both WMS directed and non-directed replenishment processes. Restock may include using a pallet jack, cart, or ladder to obtain product.
  • Aid in the seamless transfer of products to designated areas within multiple warehouse locations
  • Engage in cross-training across various departments within the warehouse, as this versatility will be essential for assisting with different tasks as the priority of warehouse operations fluctuates
  • Provide support for event inventory packing by efficiently retrieving and assembling event bins, and assisting in loading the event truck as required.
  • Create and maintain a quality, professional work environment. Maintain a positive relationship with all co-workers and colleagues
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by performing standard housekeeping such as sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and sanitizing equipment regularly and following all OSHA standards as directed by the Safety Manager
  • Contribute to the upkeep of equipment, including pallet jacks, ladders, and carts, through regular inspections, promptly reporting any identified issues to management for swift resolution

Required Minimum Qualifications/Job Knowledge:

● Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

● Comfortable standing, bending, stooping, and walking for long periods of time

● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain flexible to constant changes

● Good communication skills and ability to work with a team

● Must be able to work in various temperatures, hot or cold

● Safety shoes (steel-toe or composite-toe) are required in the warehouse

Physical Requirements:

Associates will be expected to constantly climb stairs, bend, stoop, walk, lift up to 50 lbs., and crouch as needed. Associates will constantly work in extreme conditions (heat/cold), and/or travel on a voluntary basis.
