Job summary

City Produce in Fort Walton Beach, FL, seeks a detail-oriented Inventory Clerk to manage daily physical counts, rotate stock, and maintain accurate inventory records. You will work nights 10:00pm–6:00am, Tuesday through Saturday, ensuring products meet quality standards for shipping and help with slotting new items.

You will collaborate with buyers and warehouse managers, prepare reports, conduct spot audits, and use Inventory Management Software and Excel to support efficient operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year experience in produce distribution or similar operation.
• Proficient with Inventory Management Software and Excel.
• Bilingual Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

City Produce started in 1958 as a retail produce store in Fort Walton Beach, FL, specializing in premium fresh fruit, vegetables, specialty foods, and dairy. City Produce is supported by an amazing team of sales, customer service, procurement, and operations professionals.

Essential Functions:

• Organize and perform daily physical inventory counts
• Ensure products are rotated properly during daily slot checking, and communicate any problems with rotation to the stockers and or supervisors responsible
• Assist in monitoring product quality and advise buyers & PM warehouse managers of deviations from standards
• Slot new product and advise of locations
• Work with buyers on issues regarding product quantity, quality, and usage
• Provides inventory reports to buyers, PM warehouse managers, and the inventory control manager
• Operate a cherry picker to get up higher to count.
• Manages and maintains the inventory system
• Conducts frequent spot and partial audits of physical inventory
• Assists with periodic (at least annual) physical inventory audits
• Check produce in slots on a daily basis to make certain that the product set up for shipping meets acceptable standards
• Analyze, identify, and propose action to the solution of problems associated with Quality Assurance
• Take corrective actions internally to avoid future spoilage

• At least 1+ years of recent and successful experience performing the above functions in a significant produce distribution or processing center, or a significant food manufacturing and distribution operation
• Proficient skills in Inventory Management Software, Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), and common E Mail systems

Schedule:

• 10:00pm – 6:00am (Tuesday – Saturday) Off on Sunday & Monday)

Physical Demands:

• Work in cold and wet cooler conditions as low as zero degrees, for extended periods of time
• Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
• Stand or sit for long periods of time

Compensation:

• $20/hour
