Job Summary

Under general supervision, the Material Handler - Inventory is responsible for maintaining accurate records of all inventories. Handles all paperwork and follows all procedures to meet this goal. Verifies all orders received and shipped and ensures that the orders are properly accounted for in the company’s records. Accounts for all defective or damaged products and follows with appropriate corrective action. Manages and reconciles all cycle counts. The Material Handler – Inventory will have a basic understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), safety, and inventory procedures.

Job Expectations

  1. Follow all Inventory and Safety Procedures
  2. Load and unload trailers, scan merchandise, build pallets, and label merchandise
  3. Pick, pack, and sort products
  4. Re-bag/Re-tickets, replenish, and stock merchandise as needed
  5. Verify accuracy of production or location; may set or assign locations of products
  6. Perform manual, computer, or RF functions to enter data in systems
  7. Perform count of product / reconciliations (count cycle)
  8. Review orders for fulfillment
  9. Support warehouse personnel with inventory issues and physical management of inventory
  10. Participate in physical inventory counts
  11. Conduct inventory troubleshooting and research to complete customer orders
  12. Analyze inventory stock levels
  13. Monitor aging/usage levels of products
  14. Review issues between invoices and purchase orders with Accounts Payable
  15. Process damage claims and perform root cause analysis of issues
  16. Update computerized inventory records using Cubiscan machine
  17. Communicate and assist staff with inventory concerns

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of inventory management procedures and warehousing terminology
  • Must pass basic mathematics and Excel tests
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Familiarity with warehouse and inventory management systems
  • Accuracy and attention to detail

Equipment Knowledge

  • Skills in mathematics, Excel, and spreadsheets
  • Willingness to be trained and certified on industrial powered equipment

Experience Requirements

Minimum of one (1) year of Inventory Control experience.

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.

Judgment/Reasoning Ability

Able to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment, poise, and diplomacy. Able to determine when to escalate issues in a timely manner.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, climb stairs, use hands and fingers, bend, stoop, reach, and lift materials up to 60 pounds. Proper lifting techniques required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

  • Moderate noise level, fast-paced environment with distractions
  • Company uniforms, closed-toed shoes, safety equipment may be required
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed
