Job summary

TAIT is seeking an Inventory Clerk to support the Nashville warehouse operations. The role focuses on maintaining accurate inventory records, preparing rental equipment for orders, and collaborating with rental, inventory, and operations teams to ensure availability and condition of gear.

The position requires a High School Diploma, 18+ years old, and preference for prior warehouse and inventory management experience.

Qualifications

  • Inventory management experience preferred.
  • Experience in rental, logistics, warehouse, staging, manufacturing, or distribution environments preferred.
  • Basic math skills, including addition and subtraction.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inventory counts and audits using computerized systems.
  • Track inventory movements and verify materials and transactions.
  • Verify rental packages contain all components prior to shipment.
  • Pull, stage, package, and prepare rental equipment for delivery.
  • Load/unload trucks and safely handle equipment and materials.
  • Inspect incoming/returned equipment for accuracy and condition.
  • Return inventory to storage locations while maintaining accuracy.
  • Sort and maintain inventory to support warehouse operations.
  • Identify and report damaged or missing equipment.
  • Assist with cleaning, refurbishment, and maintenance of staging equipment.
  • Support inventory accuracy through proper documentation.

Position Purpose

The Inventory Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting the daily operations of the rental warehouse. This role ensures staging equipment, components, and materials are accurately tracked, stored, inspected, and prepared for rental orders while supporting a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse environment.

The Inventory Clerk partners with rental, inventory, and operations teams to maintain inventory accuracy, support order fulfillment, and ensure equipment is available, functional, and ready for deployment.

Essential Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Perform inventory counts and audits utilizing computerized inventory management systems.
  • Track inventory movements and verify the accuracy of materials, equipment, and inventory transactions.
  • Verify rental packages contain all required components and equipment prior to shipment.
  • Pull, stage, package, and prepare rental equipment for delivery and project deployment.
  • Load and unload trucks while safely handling staging equipment and materials.
  • Inspect incoming and returned equipment for accuracy, condition, and completeness.
  • Return inventory to proper storage locations while maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Sort, organize, and maintain inventory to support efficient warehouse operations.
  • Identify, document, and report damaged or missing equipment.
  • Assist with cleaning, painting, refurbishment, and preventative maintenance of staging equipment.
  • Support inventory accuracy through proper documentation and record maintenance.
  • Maintain warehouse organization and housekeeping standards.
  • Collaborate with inventory, rental, and operations teams to support business and project needs.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Experience working within rental, logistics, warehouse, staging, manufacturing, or distribution environments preferred.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, reach, push, pull, and climb throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to regularly lift, carry, and move up to 70 pounds.
  • Must be able to safely load, unload, and transport equipment and materials.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
  • Must possess sufficient visual acuity to inspect inventory and equipment for accuracy and condition.
Work Conditions
  • Full‑time position.
  • Primarily on‑site in Nashville, Tennessee.
  • Work is performed in a warehouse and inventory environment.
  • Regular exposure to staging equipment, moving materials, forklifts, and warehouse operations.
  • Must be able to wear and properly utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety footwear, gloves, safety glasses, and other PPE as required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional overtime, as business needs require.
