GENERAL PURPOSE

Responsible for maintaining and monitoring inventory accuracy within the raw materials warehouse and work-in-process (WIP) areas. Performs daily cycle counts, inventory audits, and discrepancy investigations to ensure inventory integrity. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves inventory variances by determining root causes and implementing corrective actions. Ensures inventory databases and systems accurately reflect material transactions and inventory levels to support manufacturing and business objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Perform daily cycle counts, inventory audits, and physical inventory verifications to ensure inventory accuracy. (The majority of time will be spent counting, verifying, and reconciling inventory.)
  • Analyze inventory discrepancies, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Research, investigate, and resolve inventory variances involving raw materials, work-in-process inventory, and finished goods.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of work orders, material transfers, transport requests, deviations, inventory adjustments, and other inventory-related transactions.
  • Interact and communicate effectively with warehouse personnel, production teams, schedulers, team leaders, procurement staff, receiving personnel, and other cross-functional departments regarding inventory issues and resolutions.
  • Research and correct inventory records reported by production, receiving, or warehouse personnel, including verification of packing slips, receipts, and transaction documentation.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory data integrity within inventory management and enterprise systems.
  • Generate inventory reports and provide database information to support plant performance goals and operational decision-making.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory control, process efficiency, and operational excellence.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, inventory control procedures, and safety standards.
  • Support physical inventory activities and special inventory projects as needed.
  • Assist with training and reinforcing inventory control best practices.
  • Participate in audits and provide documentation or information as required.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support business objectives.

Education/Experience
  • One of the following is required: (1) High school diploma or its equivalent (GED for example), (2) work experience which demonstrates performance competency.
  • Relevant inventory control, warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities
  • Good mathematical aptitude with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to perform inventory transactions and reconciliations with a high degree of precision and minimal errors.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify inventory issues, determine root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control principles and material flow within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with inventory management systems, ERP systems, and computer applications (e.g., BaaN, Mainframe, Maximo, Microsoft Office, or similar systems).
  • Ability to effectively use office automation, communication tools, and software applications in a professional environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency, accountability, and commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
  • Ability to obtain certification to operate material handling equipment.
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
