Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Analyze inventory data and transactional activity to ensure inventory accuracy and optimize material availability.
  • Monitor inventory performance metrics, including inventory accuracy, inventory turns, aging inventory, stockouts, and cycle count effectiveness.
  • Coordinate and execute cycle count programs, physical inventories, and inventory audits while ensuring compliance with established procedures.
  • Investigate inventory variances and transaction discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Generate and maintain inventory reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators to support management decision-making.
  • Partner with Production, Planning, Purchasing, Warehousing, and Customer Service teams to resolve inventory-related issues and improve material flow.
  • Maintain accurate item master data, inventory parameters, and system records within the ERP system.
  • Monitor excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory and develop recommendations to improve inventory health.
  • Review inventory planning parameters such as safety stock levels, reorder points, lot sizes, and ABC classifications to align with operational objectives.
  • Support receiving, warehousing, and shipping processes by ensuring inventory transactions are completed accurately and timely.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory control, process standardization, and operational efficiency.
  • Support internal and external audits related to inventory controls and compliance requirements.
  • Perform safety audits and report unsafe conditions while promoting a culture of safety throughout the facility.

Job Summary

Air Distribution Technologies (ADTI) is seeking an Inventory Analyst for our manufacturing facility in Tarboro, NC. This position plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy, driving inventory control processes, and supporting operational excellence across manufacturing, warehousing, and supply chain functions.

The Inventory Analyst will be responsible for monitoring inventory transactions, analyzing inventory performance metrics, coordinating cycle count programs, investigating inventory discrepancies, and partnering with operations to ensure material availability while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives that support plant performance and customer satisfaction.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For
  • Associate degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, Finance, or a related field with 2+ years of inventory control, materials management, warehouse operations, or supply chain experience; or
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends, interpret data, and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Experience analyzing inventory transactions, reconciliations, and inventory variances.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining data accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with inventory forecasting, inventory planning, and cycle count management.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kanban, PFEP, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • APICS Certification (CPIM, CSCP, or CLTD).
  • Experience with ERP platforms such as Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards, IFS, or similar systems.
  • Familiarity with inventory accounting principles and inventory control best practices.
Work Environment

The work environment is primarily in a professional office setting within a manufacturing facility, with regular interaction on the production floor and within warehouse operations. The position may require standing, walking, and conducting physical inventory audits throughout the facility.
