Job description

One of the world's largest automakers is searching for an Inventory Analyst to support dealers onsite at their offices in Auburn Hills, MI. This role is focused on supporting the Retail Inventory Management (RIM) Program by working directly with automotive dealers on inventory planning, data integrity, and system optimization. If you’re detail-oriented, Excel-savvy, and have a strong foundation in inventory operations and customer support, this is a great opportunity to join a high-impact team.

This is a cross-functional role with plenty of variety—part data analysis, part dealer support, and part system troubleshooting. You'll be collaborating daily with dealers, monitoring data flows, and helping ensure that inventory planning systems run efficiently and accurately. Strong communication skills and a positive, solutions-oriented mindset are key for success here.

W2 Contract Duration: Ongoing, Long-term

Work Environment: Hybrid – Only candidates local to Auburn Hills, MI will be considered.

Required Skills & Experience

• 1-3+ years of experience in inventory management or materials planning
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas, etc.)
• Experience analyzing data and identifying trends or errors
• Customer service experience and strong written communication skills
• Ability to troubleshoot issues related to data flow, systems, or dealer requests
• High School diploma

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience working with RIM (Retail Inventory Management) and DMS systems
• Familiarity with SAP tools (ET2000, BW4HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud, Business Objects)
• Experience running queries in Oracle SQL
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
• Master-level Excel proficiency
• Experience supporting change management efforts

Responsibilities

• Communicate daily with dealers via email to support inventory planning and system adoption
• Use Excel and SQL to analyze inventory data, spot trends, and resolve discrepancies
• Adjust dealer stocking parameters based on system data and performance insights
• Monitor and troubleshoot data integrity and transfer issues between dealers and systems
• Support the RIM team with reporting, change management, and data-driven recommendations
• Serve as a subject matter expert on dealer inventory tools and related processes
