Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center is seeking a Cardiovascular Tech RCIS to support invasive cardiovascular procedures under supervision. The role requires strong knowledge of cath lab operations and the ability to interpret EKGs and pressures.

Hours are 07:00-17:30, Monday through Friday, with opportunities to contribute to patient transport, equipment setup, and post-procedure care. The position emphasizes teaching staff and maintaining sterile technique in a high-stakes environment.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree, science emphasis or commensurate healthcare experience.
• Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
• RCIS certification within eighteen (18) months of date of hire.
• ARRT and TX RT(R) required in lieu of RCIS.
• Licenses and/or Certifications (Required and Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assists in teaching and orientation of students and new staff.
• Assists physician as monitor tech during cath lab procedures by interpreting basic and advanced dysrhythmia and EKGs and operating physiologic recorder.
• Assists physician with procedures as a scrub tech and operates imaging equipment under physician.
• Assists with diagnostic procedures as a circulator, monitoring patient status during procedures.
• Transports patient to and from department as needed.
• Cleans and stocks cath lab.
• Demonstrates knowledge of medications and dosages used.
• Demonstrates theoretical knowledge of procedures.
• Orders supplies for cath lab and maintains inventory control.
• Prepares lab for procedure and maintains sterile technique.
• Prepares patient for procedure by shaving and prepping pulses.
• Troubleshoots equipment problems.
