Job summary

University of Rochester is seeking an Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IOM) Technologist Trainee to support spine, vascular, and intracranial procedures. You will train with an ABRET CNIM certif ication and progress toward CNIM while ensuring accurate electrode placement and real-time data interpretation.

Upon certification, the role transitions to IOM Technologist 1 with increased responsibilities in monitoring, equipment maintenance, and continuing CME training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or equivalent education/experience.
• ABRET CNIM certification within 1–2 years of hire.
• Experience in IOM, EEG, EP or operating room is preferred.
• Willingness to train and progress toward CNIM certification.

Responsibilities

• Train in setup and breakdown of IOM cases with correct electrode placement.
• Train to monitor and interpret neurophysiological data during surgeries.
• Complete CME coursework and URMC didactic training to prepare for CNIM.
• Maintain and troubleshoot monitoring equipment as assigned.
