Job summary

University of Rochester is seeking an Intraoperative Neuromonitoring Technologist Trainee to support spine, vascular, and intracranial procedures in a full-time role at URMC. The position trains with ABRET CNIM certification and advances toward the IOM Technologist 1 level as you gain credentialing and experience.

The role includes learning setup, monitoring, data interpretation, and equipment maintenance, with a structured path to CNIM certification within 1–2 years of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• ABRET CNIM certification within 1–2 years of hire.
• Prior IOM, EEG, EP or operating room experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Train in setup and breakdown of IOM cases with electrode placement and equipment functioning.
• Monitor and interpret neurophysiological data during surgeries.
• Complete CME coursework and URMC didactic training to prepare for CNIM.
• Train to maintain and troubleshoot monitoring equipment.
