Job description

Role Mission: The IDEA Interventionist Teacher intervenes with small groups of students who have identified gaps of 2 or more years in Reading and/or Math with the goal of closing that gap by 2 years in just one school year. The IDEA interventionist plays a crucial part in ensuring that all students are prepared to successfully participate in IDEA's AP for All initiative. This approach provides systematic, appropriately intensive assistance to children at risk of or already underperforming relative to grade- or age-level standards. Intervention teachers will utilize universal screening, Direct Instruction, frequent progress monitoring, and research-based interventions for students experiencing ongoing difficulties.

This position is grant-funded with Title I Part A funds. Funding may be extended, but there is no guarantee of ongoing employment. All duties are tied to grant-allowable activities, and the employee will work solely on these activities.

What We Offer

Compensation:

  • The starting salary for 0 years of experience is $58,500. This role is eligible for stipends based on certifications, credentials, and campus leadership, ranging from $500-$4,000. Opportunities for additional incentives include our Teacher Career Pathway, with potential earnings up to $10,000. More details are available on our compensation and benefits page.
  • Additional hourly compensation is provided for after-school tutoring or Saturday school as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills
  • High proficiency in Math and/or ELA, evidenced by certification, field of study, or work experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in a K-12 classroom preferred.
  • State certification preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of core academic subjects, curriculum, instruction, and behavior management.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to various situations in the school environment.
Responsibilities
  • Teach small groups in reading and/or math for students in grades 3-8, including students in special education, 504, RTI, and English Language Learners.
  • Coordinate with general education teachers to support student needs.
  • Implement state standards, curricula, and assessments.
  • Deliver relevant content and grade-level instruction.
  • Submit weekly lesson plans for feedback.
  • Use assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Communicate progress with students and families weekly.
  • Utilize technology effectively for instruction and communication.
  • Maintain a consistent behavior management system.
  • Contribute to a positive school culture and foster student character development.
  • Establish trust and respectful relationships with students and families.
  • Host tutoring sessions as needed.
  • Participate in meetings, duties, and professional development.
  • Work at least 40 hours per week, including after-school or Saturday sessions as needed.
