Job summary

St. Peter’s Health Partners in New York seeks an Interventional Vascular Technologist for a full-time, day shift. Under the Chief of Medical Imaging, you will perform vascular/interventional procedures and support imaging services in a hospital setting.

We emphasize professional growth, a strong orientation program, and tuition support. Candidates must have an AAS in Radiologic Technology, current NYS licensure, and preferred CV/Interventional certification.

Qualifications

• AAS in Radiologic Technology or equivalent hospital-based program.
• Current NYS license in Radiologic Technology.
• Advanced Cardiovascular/Interventional Technology certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostic imaging.
• Operate and adjust imaging equipment.
• Explain procedure to patient, position patient and equipment.
• Obtains and records a complete clinical history pertinent to the examination requested.
• Evaluates requests for appropriateness, refers concerns to coordinator and/or Radiologist.
• Ability to compress and evaluate arterial and venous puncture sites.
• Selects appropriate technical factors for requested imaging exam.
• Assists in the instruction of student technologists and new personnel.
• Selects post processing techniques to optimize vascular/interventional images.
• Maintains inventories of catheters, guidewires and stents.
• Maintains aseptic technique during procedures and scrub with physician.
• Ability to access and interpret lab values and patient monitoring equipment.
