The Neuro Interventional Radiology (Neuro IR) Technologist is responsible for providing technical and clinical support during diagnostic and therapeutic neurovascular procedures. The technologist operates advanced angiographic imaging equipment, assists physicians during neurointerventional procedures, ensures patient safety, maintains sterile technique, and collaborates with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care.
This role requires expertise in vascular imaging, radiation safety, sterile procedural practices, and the management of patients undergoing complex neurovascular interventions.
Determines need for repeat or additional images, and the technical factor or patient positioning adjustments required to correct image/examination deficiencies.
Skill in applying the principles of radiation protection and safety.
Knowledge of the principles of digital imaging and digital subtraction techniques.
Knowledge of radiographic image production and processing.
Knowledge of radiologic contrast media and medications routinely used in radiology.
Knowledge of radiation physics, radiobiology, and radiation protection.
Knowledge of medical terminology. Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
Ability to accurately apply knowledge of radiologic positioning and exposure technique.
Performs all other duties as required.
Position Requirements:
This position requires a minimum formal education of Associate Degree or certification equivalent and a minimum of 3 years job-related experience.
Desired (not required) criteria include: Certification and current registration in Vascular- interventional Technology (VI) by ARRT.
License, NY State Radiologic Technologist License & ARRT Certification.
Requires minimum three years of previous experience as a Vascular Interventional Technologist.
Mon - Fri 8AM to 4PM, on call as needed
