Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in Canton, Ohio is hiring an Interventional Vascular Technologist to support advanced IR therapies and imaging in a world-class care environment. You will scrub in for vascular, interventional, and surgical procedures, educate patients, ensure safety and comfort, and record procedural data while complying with licensing and safety standards.

Preferred ARRT R.T.(R) CV/VI credentials, current radiologic licensure, BLS, and about one year of experience; shifts are

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• Registered Technologist credentialed by ARRT R.T.(R) in good standing.
• Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist.
• Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

• Utilize sterile or aseptic technique to scrub in and perform vascular, interventional, and surgical procedures per protocol.
• Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
• Ensure patients safety and comfort during and after exams.
• Demonstrate understanding of primary purpose of drugs used in IR, indications, contraindications, contrast drug interactions and major effects.
• Position patients to obtain radiographic exposure.
• Record and maintain procedural data to include injection data, elapsed fluoroscopic time and procedural information.
• Monitor equipment, systems, clean equipment, and effects timely repair.
• Learn new technical information and skills through attendance of periodic in-service programs and participation in professional affiliation sessions.
