Required License/Registration/Certification
Kentucky State Radiation Operators License + American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT RT) + Basic Life Support (BLS)
Physical Requirements
Lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to 50lbs; Standing or walking with objects up to 25lbs; Standing for long periods while wearing radiation protective garments; Risk of back injury from moving, lifting or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; Risk of injuries from use of equipment on the job; Radiation exposure.
Shift
Days/evenings (shift varies) with on-call evenings, nights, and weekends.
Job Summary
UK Healthcare is growing! We are expanding our Interventional Radiology services and are hiring for new technologists.
The IR Technologist will provide clinical assistance during procedures and assist the physician in expediting needed care. The IR Tech will provide technical assistance in CT, US, and fluoroscopy-guided procedures. Quality, efficiency, and service excellence are essential parts of this position.
Techs will also assist as a scrub tech or circulator during procedures, and be responsible for supply charge, documentation, and charging procedures. Maintaining patient efficiency by spending appropriate amounts of time for each task and interacting effectively will be an essential job function. Adhering to the UK behavioral standards during interactions with patients, coworkers, and physicians, as well as external and internal customers, will also be essential.
Maintaining privacy and confidentiality are required. There is potential for advancement to Master Tech after obtaining advanced registry credentials and gaining equipment proficiency.
Applicants who possess an Associate’s degree & 3 years of related experience (or equivalent) + ARRT or ARRT certification are eligible to be moved upon hire to the grade 12 Interventional Master Technologist/ UKHC position ($30.00/hour – $53.67/hour).

Preferred Interventional Radiology experience, but any radiology tech experience is acceptable.
