Interventional Technologist Cath Lab Full Time Days

Join us as an Interventional Technologist Cath Lab Full Time Days at CommonSpirit Health.

Job Summary / Purpose

Assist Interventional Cardiologists, Radiologists, and Vascular Surgeons in Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, and Endovascular procedures. Perform duties as scrub and monitoring staff, ensure radiation safety, provide patient and family education, support customer satisfaction, and work as part of the Cath Lab team. Demonstrate competencies in imaging and device-based equipment, and respond effectively to emergencies such as STEMI and Stroke alerts. Document and evaluate intervention outcomes, and provide on-call services as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate c-arm radiation equipment, ensure radiation protection, and demonstrate procedural competency.
• Prepare sterile fields, assist as scrub staff, and monitor hemodynamics.
• Be knowledgeable about current devices used in Cath Lab/IR/Endovascular procedures, including atherectomy, IABP, IVUS, Impella, CTO, DES, DCB, OCT, thrombectomy, and embolic coils, as well as procedures like PCI, PTCA, PTA, angiography, stent placement, line placements, dialysis access, and device implants.
• Make rapid decisions, demonstrate critical thinking and leadership, act as a preceptor, and respond promptly to emergencies.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and cardiovascular risk factors.
• Assist nursing staff, report deviations, and maintain the CPACS database.
• Demonstrate competency in sheath removal, hemostasis, EKG recognition, and hemodynamics.
• Provide peri-procedural care and maintain readiness for emergent surgeries.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Licensed Medical Radiographer: MRAD:KY.
• Registered Technologist Radiography (ARRT: RTR, RCES, RCIS).
• AHA BLS-CPR certification within 5 days of hire.
• AHA ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
