We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Tech) to join our imaging team. The IR Tech will assist physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures by preparing equipment, positioning patients, and ensuring high-quality imaging. This role is essential in supporting accurate diagnosis and successful therapeutic interventions in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist radiologists and other physicians with interventional procedures (e.g., angiograms, stent placements, biopsies, drainages).
- Prepare and maintain sterile field, equipment, and instruments used during procedures.
- Operate fluoroscopy, CT, or ultrasound imaging equipment to capture diagnostic-quality images in real time.
- Monitor patient condition during procedures and respond to emergencies as needed.
- Perform and document pre-procedural and post-procedural assessments.
- Administer contrast materials under the direction of a licensed physician.
- Ensure accurate patient identification, safety, and comfort throughout the procedure.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records within electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Adhere to all radiation safety protocols and infection control policies.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and equipment calibration checks.
Required Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Current ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology (R).
- Valid state radiologic technologist license (if applicable by location).
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in interventional radiology or a related imaging field.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification – current and active.
- Strong knowledge of radiologic safety practices, sterile technique, and imaging protocols.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)- ARRT (VI) – Vascular Interventional certification.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
- Experience working in a hospital or high-acuity interventional radiology environment.
- Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and PACS.
