Job summary

IR Centers is a multidisciplinary private practice endovascular lab providing interventional radiology services in outpatient settings across the U.S. We seek an Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Scrub Tech) to prepare patients and rooms for procedures, maintain sterile technique, and assist physicians by passing instruments during interventional procedures.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, valid BLS, 2 years of scrubbing tech experience, and ARRT/CST certification

Qualifications

  • Proven working experience as a surgical technologist.
  • Proficient in maintaining a sterile field.
  • Experience scrubbing in for surgical procedures.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare regulations.
  • Working knowledge of interventional equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures.
  • Reviews patient orders to determine materials and sets up/cleans rooms.
  • Assists with patient prep, transfers, and positioning.
  • Inputs patient data into the C-Arm and assists physicians during procedures.
  • Complies with HIPAA, draws up and labels IV medications, and processes/archives x-ray images.
  • Manages equipment maintenance, supply inventory, and hazardous waste disposal.
  • May serve as Radiation Safety Officer and assist with accreditation surveys.
  • Ensures effective communication with physicians.
  • Assists with patient billing, verifying procedure charges, CPT, and ICD9 codes.

As a Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Scrub Tech), you will assist in preparing patients and procedure rooms for surgeries, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are ready. You will maintain a sterile environment, assist physicians during procedures by passing instruments, and help with patient positioning and transfers.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Valid BLS Certification
  • Surgical technologist / Scrub Tech experience: 2 years
  • ARRT // CST Certification (Preferred)

Working conditions:

Employees may be exposed to infectious diseases. Must lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and assist in patient transfers up to 400 pounds. Standing in a protective apron for 60-90 minutes is required. Reasonable accommodations for disabilities are available.
