Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist to support complex fluoroscopy, CT, laser and ultrasound procedures in vascular and neuroradiology. You will help maintain efficient patient flow, teach patients, and assist with care within scope of practice.

The role requires ARRT radiography certification and Texas MRT licensure, with BLS; ACLS preferred. Schedule: 5 days, 8 hours, full-time across campuses as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology.
• 2 years radiology experience preferred.
• ARRT Radiography certification required.
• State licensure (Texas MRT) required; other states vary.

Summary

The Interventional Radiology Technologist is responsible for helping perform a variety of complex specialized tasks operating fluoroscopy, computed tomography, laser, and ultrasonography equipment during vascular and neuroradiology angiographic and interventional procedures. This individual is responsible for helping develop and implement systems to assure the smooth and efficient flow of patients for procedures in the Interventional labs. Duties for this Job include but are not limited to circulating and scrubbing roles during procedures, patient teaching, assisting with patient care within the scope of practice, inventory management, and schedule coordination. • Ensures completed exams are scanned and stored correctly in PACS.
• Ability to follow PACS downtime procedures as a PACS Superuser and elevate any problem(s) or issue(s) to the PACS administrator or Designee if needed.
• Troubleshoots and reports any equipment malfunctions to the Director/Manager and/or Biomedical personnel; does appropriate follow-up.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education/Skills

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent required.

Experience

• 2 years experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred
• Basic computer experience required

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• Radiography (R) by ARRT is required
• State Licensure required
  • Texas: MRT by TMB
  • Louisiana: LRT (R) or (F) by LSRTBE
  • New Mexico: RRT by MIRTP NMED
• BLS required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
