Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report to supervision.

Summary:

The Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist is responsible for helping perform a variety of complex specialized tasks operating fluoroscopy, computed tomography, laser, and ultrasonography equipment during vascular and neuroradiology angiographic and interventional procedures. This individual is responsible for helping develop and implement systems to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of patients for procedures in the Interventional labs. Duties for this position include but are not limited to: circulating and scrubbing roles during procedures, patient teaching, assisting with patient care within the scope of practice, inventory management, and schedule coordination. • Ability to follow PACS downtime procedures as a PACS Superuser and elevate any problem(s) or issue(s) to the PACS administrator or Designee if needed.
• Troubleshoots and reports any equipment malfunctions to the Director/Manager and/or Biomedical personnel; does appropriate follow-up.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education/Skills

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent required

Experience

• 1 year of training/experience in special procedures/IR required
• Basic computer experience required

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) by ARRT is required
• Current state Licensure required

  • Louisiana: LRT (R) or (F) by LSRTBE
  • New Mexico: RRT by MIRTP NMED
• BLS required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
