Job summary

Southcoast Staffing, presented by Southcoast Physician's Group, is hiring experienced Interventional Radiology Technologists for our in-house traveler team at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, MA.

The assignment runs 11-13 weeks with an option to extend for two additional 13-week terms. Work is day shift with on-call rotation; may float to Charlton Memorial Hospital as needed. Full-time or part-time schedules offered.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
• Current RT licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
• Post-primary certification in Vascular Interventional Radiography and ACLS is preferred.
• Must have a minimum of one year of IR experience.
• Ability to efficiently float to other like-units for patient assignments is required.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, perform diversified clinical patient care and imaging duties within Interventional Radiology as part of a care team.
• Obtain pertinent information from patient charts and document data in the EHR.
• Position patient, select imaging equipment and supplies, and educate patient for exam.
• Identify, prepare and/or administer pharmaceuticals for exams/procedures while applying ALARA principles and MR safety practices.
• Assist physicians in performing procedures.

Assignment Details

Position Summary

Under the general supervision and direction of the Manager, Interventional Radiology Clinical Services or designee, perform diversified clinical patient care, technical and related duties within assigned modality as part of an interdisciplinary care team. Assume responsibility for each assigned patient, perform patient assessments, and correlate clinical findings with exam/procedure request. Obtain pertinent information from patient’s chart and document all data within the EHR. Educate patient for exam. Position patient and select appropriate imaging equipment and supplies. Identify, prepare and/or administer pharmaceuticals related to the exam/procedure. Select technical factors/ parameters/sequences to produce quality images. Properly identify anatomy and evaluate images for technical quality. Apply the principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patient, self and others and aware of MR safety practices. Assist physicians in performing procedures.
