Job summary

Southcoast Health is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, MA. This 32-hour/day shift role includes day shift with weekend, holiday and on-call rotation.

A $12,000 new hire sign-on bonus is offered for this position. Responsibilities include patient care within interventional radiology, image acquisition, assisting physicians during procedures, and adherence to ALARA and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Post-primary ARRT certification in Interventional Radiology RT(VI)/(CI)/(CV) required or equivalent.
• Current RT licensure in MA required.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, perform diversified clinical patient care within interventional radiology.
• Obtain information from patient charts and document data in the EHR.
• Position patients, select imaging equipment and administer pharmaceuticals as needed.
• Assist physicians in interventional procedures and apply ALARA to minimize radiation exposure.

$12,000 new hire sign‑on bonus for this position. (rehires termed more than 1 year also eligible)

Under the general supervision and direction of the Manager, Interventional Radiology Clinical Services or designee, perform diversified clinical patient care, technical and related duties within assigned modality as part of an interdisciplinary care team. Assume responsibility for each assigned patient, perform patient assessments, and correlate clinical findings with exam/procedure request. Obtain pertinent information from patient*s chart and document all data within the EHR. Educate patient for exam. Position patient and select appropriate imaging equipment and supplies. Identify, prepare and/or administer pharmaceuticals related to the exam/procedure. Select technical factors/ parameters/sequences to produce quality images. Properly identify anatomy and evaluate images for technical quality. Apply the principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patient, self and others and aware of MR safety practices. Assist physicians in performing procedures.

• Successful completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology, and attainment of post‑primary certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Interventional Radiology RT(VI)/(CI)/or (CV).
• Current RT licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
• Post‑primary certification in Vascular Interventional Radiography and ACLS is preferred.
• Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or Cardiovascular Credentialing International is required.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
