Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Radiology Interventional Technologist to perform specialized radiography and fluoroscopic coverage under physician direction. You will explain procedures to patients and prep them, and obtain medications or contrast materials as directed.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an ARRT-recognized Radiologic Technology program.
  • Completion of an accredited Radiology Interventional Program or ARRT/RCIS Cardiovascular Interventional Training Program.
  • Registered and certified by ARRT or RCIS.
  • Advanced Certification (ARRT – CV, CI, or VI) required.
  • BLS certification required.

  • Provide necessary report information to the holding area or nursing unit as needed.
  • Record and process hemodynamic reports, contrast media records and charges promptly and accurately.

Education

Graduate of ARRT-recognized Radiologic Technology program

Position Highlights


  • Sign On Bonus: $15,000 sign on bonus for qualified new hires or $10,000 for qualified new graduates in this specialty.

  • Relocation Assistance: Up to $5,000 in Relocation Assistance (for qualified candidates)


What You Need


  • Graduate of an institution accredited by an agency that ARRT recognizes in Radiologic Technology.

  • Completion of an accredited Radiology Interventional Program required or an ARRT/RCIS graduate from a Cardiovascular Interventional Training Program.

  • Registered and certified by the ARRT or RCIS required.

  • Advanced Certification (ARRT – CV, CI, or VI) required.

  • BLS required


What You Will Do


  • Performs specialized radiography and fluoroscopic coverage of interventional and angiographic procedures under the direction of a physician.

  • Explains the procedure to the patient and preps the patient for the procedure.

  • Obtains medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist, or registered nurse.

  • Circulates during the procedure and maintains responsibility for patient comfort.

  • Provides supplies necessary for diagnostic and therapeutic invasive procedures.

  • Removes catheters/sheaths and applies direct pressure or clamp as appropriate.

  • Provides necessary report information to the holding area or nursing unit as needed.

  • Records and processes hemodynamic reports, contrast media records and charges promptly and accurately.

  • Communicates equipment malfunctions to leadership or department engineer for repairs.
