MUSC Florence Medical Center, part of Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA), is seeking a full-time Interventional Radiology Technologist. The role involves imaging vascular structures, assisting with invasive procedures, and ensuring patient safety with radiation protection.

Training will be provided to licensed radiologic technologists who meet licensure requirements. Requirements include graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program, ARRT registration, and SC licensure.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
  • Experience in Interventional Radiology is preferred.
  • ARRT registration required; SC Radiation Quality Standards licensure required.
  • Current BLS required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Image vascular structures or perform therapeutic interventions to aid in diagnosis or treatment.
  • Provide patient care and monitor patient conditions during procedures.
  • Apply positioning, radiographic techniques, and ensure radiation protection.

Entity Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) Worker Type Employee Worker Sub-Type Regular Cost Center CC001232 FLO - Interventional Radiology (FMC) Pay Rate Type Hourly Pay Grade Health-28 Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Work Shift

Job Description The Interventional Radiology Technologist reports to the Interventional Radiology Supervisor. Under limited supervision, the IRP competently perform technical duties utilizing various types of equipment to image selected vascular structures or therapeutic intervention to assist in diagnosis or treatment. This role provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. The technologist applies principles of positioning, radiographic sciences, and ensures radiation protection is exercised with specialized techniques. This position assists and supports the physicians with invasive procedures.

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology. Experience: Previous Interventional Radiology experience is preferred. License: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
