This will be a part-time position, 20 hours per week,day shift with some on call duties M, W, Th, Sat The ideal candidate will bea registered Radiology Technologist with excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work independently. As an Interventional Radiology Technologist, you willassistinterventionalradiologistsin the performance of complex diagnostic and therapeutic angiographic procedures.Providespatient care as needed and documents medical procedures.Assistsinprovidingefficient and effective patient care. Primary Duties: Performs and/orassistsin all angiographic and interventional imaging procedures as well as myelography, arthrography and venography.Prepares and positionspatientsandoperates/monitors imaging devices during procedures. Utilizes immobilization devices and radiation protective measures during the operation of imaging equipment. Evaluates radiographs for technical accuracy and quality. Assures that studies are properlyidentifiedand filed in patient film jackets. Verifies the procedure(s) performed asindicatedby the physician on the superbill. Utilizes physical assessment skills,monitoringdevices (pulse, respiration, blood pressure, EKG), intravenous care and aseptic techniques inprovidingpatient care. Completes required quality control and quality assurance records, and summarizes servicesrenderedfor statistical reports.Ensures that supply levels in the procedure rooms areadequate andnotifies the individual responsible for ordering replenishment stock whenappropriate.Takes call on a rotating basis, for afterhours/weekend coverage. Qualifications: Associatedegreeor1+ yearsformal training in an AMA approved program in Radiologic Technology. 4+months ofjob-relatedexperience in the performance of angiography and other complex radiological examinations. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) examination and be ARRT certified.
