Job description

Core Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine diagnostic radiological procedures as aligned with the Technical Order (TO).
  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety protocols per the Radiology Department's established guidelines.
  • Forward relevant image series to the radiologist for interpretation in accordance with Military Treatment Facility (MTF) protocols.
  • Accurately position patients for examinations and make the necessary technical adjustments to optimize imaging. Assess whether any special patient preparation is required prior to the examination.
  • Process digital imaging output and submit for radiologist evaluation.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of all procedures, adhering to MTF policies regarding record-keeping.
  • Execute system calibrations and perform quality control tasks per manufacturer standards and MTF policies as assigned.
  • Identify artifacts and equipment errors, promptly notifying designated government personnel about any deviations from standard values.
  • Initiate repair protocols for equipment malfunctions by reporting to the appropriate governmental personnel.
  • Log any equipment issues in the trouble call logbook and communicate them to the Biomedical Repair Section.
  • Monitor for and report any symptoms indicative of adverse reactions to contrast media directly to the radiologist, advising on conditions that may necessitate immediate intervention.
  • Be prepared to implement emergency protocols for resuscitation in cases of cardiac or respiratory emergencies.
Operational Schedule
  • Standard 8-hour shifts scheduled Monday through Friday, between 0700 and 1600 hours, with coverage expected on holidays.
  • On-call responsibilities are designated between 1600 and 0700 Monday through Friday, as well as full 24-hour coverage on weekends and holidays. Each technologist is required to provide on-call duty one week every four weeks minimally.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Must be a graduate from a program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of hands‑on experience as an Interventional Radiologic (IR) Technologist within the past two years.
  • Certification: Must hold current certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
  • Life Support Certification: Must possess a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification from AHA or ARC.
Security Clearance

Must be capable of passing a governmental background investigation/security clearance.
