UVM Medical Center in Burlington, VT is seeking an Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist to support physicians during minimally invasive, image-guided procedures in our radiology department.

Responsibilities include assisting with angioplasty, stent placement, biopsies, and catheterizations, while delivering compassionate patient care and maintaining high safety standards. A VT license and ARRT certification are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited program of Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT certification is required for this role.
• Vermont state licensure is required.
• Transcript verification will be requested during the interview process.
• Must complete VI Radiography certification within 24 months of orientation.

• Assist physicians during minimally invasive, image-guided procedures in the radiology department.

• Ensure patient safety and comfort, and maintain high standards of care and documentation.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

An Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist is a specialized healthcare professional trained to assist physicians during minimally invasive, image-guided procedures performed in the radiology department. These technologists play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and accurate execution of various interventional procedures, such as angioplasty, stent placement, biopsies, and catheterizations, among others. The IR Technologist is a highly skilled and knowledgeable professional who plays a pivotal role in interventional radiology procedures, combining technical expertise with compassionate patient care to facilitate successful outcomes and enhance the overall patient experience.

EDUCATION:

• Graduate from an accredited program of Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT is required.
• Must be licensed in the State of Vermont.
• Individual must accumulate 200 exams as outlined by the ARRT and become licensed in the modality by passing the Vascular-Interventional (VI) Radiography certification exam within 24 months of completing orientation.
• This position requires verification of your college transcript. Please be prepared to provide a copy should you be invited for an interview.

EXPERIENCE:

One year of clinical experience is highly recommended.

• Candidates joining us in a full-time IR technologist position, from greater than 120 miles from their previous role and home, are eligible for relocation assistance up to $60,00.
