Job summary

Page Mechanical Group, Inc. seeks an Interventional Radiology Technologist to support physicians during procedures, operate imaging equipment, and ensure radiation safety. This role involves patient positioning, pre- and post-procedure care, and collaboration with radiologists and nurses in a clinical setting.

An associate degree and RT certification are required, with BLS and ongoing education to maintain licensure.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or certificate in Radiologic Technology.
  • Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) or Radiology Technician (RTT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Participates in orientation and continuing education to maintain knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the suite and equipment for procedures.
  • Verify patient identification, medical history, and procedure details.
  • Assist in positioning patients comfortably and securely on the procedure table.
  • Provide patient education regarding the procedure and address any concerns.
  • Ability to maintain radiation safety and infection control protocols.
  • Operate imaging equipment to visualize internal structures during procedures.
  • Adjust imaging parameters to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure.
  • Ensure the functionality and cleanliness of equipment before and after each procedure.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and elevate issues as necessary.
  • Assist radiologists and physicians in performing interventional procedures by scrubbing procedures and performing post imaging manipulation of images.
  • Hand off sterile equipment and supplies to the procedural team as needed.
  • Assist with monitoring patient vital signs and comfort level throughout the procedure.
  • Utilizes sterile or aseptic technique to scrub in and assists physicians with procedures per protocol.
  • Insertion and removal of venous and arterial access devices
  • Manually injects contrast agent.
  • Operates ancillary equipment adherent to specific procedures.
  • Circulates within procedure room and procures equipment required for any given procedure.
  • Transfer patients safely to recovery areas and provide post-procedure care as directed.
  • Monitor patients for any signs of complications and report findings to the healthcare team.
  • Document procedure details, patient responses, and any adverse events accurately in medical records.
  • Communicate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other team members to ensure smooth workflow and patient safety.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to discuss patient cases and treatment plans.
  • Establishes effective working relationships and utilizes a team approach to process improvement.
  • Learns new technical information and skills through attendance of periodic in-service programs and participation in professional affiliation sessions.
