Job summary

HonorHealth in Phoenix, AZ seeks an experienced Radiology Technologist for Interventional Radiology procedures under radiologist supervision. The role requires independent judgment, patient safety focus, and data entry responsibilities across network sites.

Responsibilities include image acquisition, contrast administration, and ensuring protocol accuracy; RIS/PACS familiarity is essential. Holds AZ CRT license with BLS and ARRT credentials active; IR interventional preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Radiologic Technology from NLN/CCNE or ARRT training.
• BLS certification required.
• AZ State CRT license required.
• ARRT certification current required; vascular/cardiac interventional preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review orders and verify patient/procedure with radiologist.
• Transport and position patients using safe handling techniques.
• Perform IR procedures and monitor patient safety and comfort.
• Administer contrast materials as required.
• Initiate emergency response to contrast reaction if needed.
• Obtain and evaluate images for quality; annotate as required.
• Utilize RIS, PACS and related systems.
• Coordinate daily workflow across the department.
• Maintain equipment and perform QC testing.
• Rotate through departments and provide training as needed.

Responsibilities:

Job Summary

Under the direction of a radiologist, this position performs diagnostic/therapeutic procedures, requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Assumes responsibility for tasks or procedures as assigned. Performs data entry operations using appropriate hospital software package. Staff member may be required to provide coverage at various locations in the network.

Essential Functions

• Reviews patient identification, orders, and history to ensure correct patient, procedure, imaging site, Protocols procedure with radiologist as needed.
• Transports patients to and from the exam room and assists them into position using safe patient handling techniques and equipment.
• Performs Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures and observes patient during procedure to ensure patient's safety and comfort.
• Administers contrast materials as required.
• Able to initiate emergency response to contrast reaction as needed.
• Obtains and evaluates images for technical quality assurance factors including image laterality marking and annotation as required by IR procedure protocols.
• Utilizes RIS, PACS and other, ancillary image management systems as needed.
• Assists in coordination of daily workflow for the department's activities.
• Maintains equipment in efficient operating order. Performs and documents all required quality control testing. Contacts service for repair and maintenance as directed.
• Rotates throughout the department as staffing and volume dictates.
• Participates in orientation, training, and in-servicing of staff, as needed.
• Maintains an orderly, clean and safe environment of patients and staff in assigned area. Maintains stock and inventory as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

• Associates from an accredited NLN/CCNE or ARRT Vocational/Specialized Training Required
• Bachelors from an accredited NLN/CCNE or ARRT Vocational/Specialized Training Preferred

Experience

• >10 months Radiology experience Required

License and Certifications

• Radiologic Technologist - License Current AZ State Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification provider course and must be provided prior to start date Required
• ARRT-American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Certification Valid and Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Required
• ARRT-Vascular Intervention - Certification Preferred
• ARRT-Radiography - Certification ARRT Radiology (R) Preferred
• ARRT-Cardiac Intervention - Certification Preferred
