Job summary

IR Centers, a multidisciplinary private practice endovascular lab, seeks a Surgical Technologist (IR Scrub Tech) to prepare patients and rooms for radiology procedures in an outpatient setting. You will maintain a sterile environment and assist physicians during interventional procedures by passing instruments and aiding patient positioning.

Requirements include a high school diploma, valid BLS, and 2 years of scrub tech experience; ARRT/CST certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures
• Reviews patient orders to determine necessary materials and sets up/cleans procedure rooms
• Assists with patient prep, transfers, and positioning
• Inputs patient data into the C-Arm and assists physicians during interventional procedures, maintaining sterile technique
• Complies with HIPAA, draws up and labels IV medications, and processes/archives x-ray images
• Manages equipment maintenance, supply inventory, and hazardous waste disposal
• May serve as Radiation Safety Officer and assist with accreditation surveys
• Ensures effective communication with physicians
• Assists with patient billing, verifying procedure charges, CPT, and ICD9 codes
