Responsibilities

• Provides specialized nursing care throughout the perioperative process for Interventional Radiology patients.
• Collaborates with radiologists, physicians, multidisciplinary team members, patients, and families to optimize patient outcomes, ensure patient safety, and promote high quality care before, during, and after interventional procedures.
• Obtain and maintain intravenous access and administer medications including conscious sedation.
• Monitor patient status, vital signs, and response to interventions before, during, and after procedures.
• Assist physicians during interventional procedures and maintain sterile technique.
• Educate patients and families regarding procedures, follow-up care, and discharge instructions.
• Provide accurate and timely perioperative documentation.
• Transport patients as needed and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout care.
• Participate in identification and implementation of patient care needs to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Monitor for and respond to complications and notify providers of abnormal findings.

Job Summary

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Interventional Radiology experience preferred.
• Critical Care experience preferred.
• Assess patients, review histories, medications, allergies, laboratory results, and obtain pre-procedure documentation.
• Obtain and maintain intravenous access and administer medications including conscious sedation.
• Monitor patient status, vital signs, and response to interventions before, during, and after procedures.
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement plans of care.
