Job summary

Minimally Invasive Vascular is seeking a dependable and compassionate PRN/Part-Time Registered Nurse to join our interventional radiology team in Florida. The role involves caring for patients through pre-, intra-, and post-procedure phases in a fast-paced IR setting.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license, ADN or BSN, and BLS/ACLS, with experience in sedation, critical care, and interventional radiology preferred. This position offers potential transition to full-time as the practice grows.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Experience with moderate sedation, critical care, emergency nursing, procedural nursing, PACU, cardiac catheterization, or interventional radiology preferred
• Strong IV-starting and patient-assessment skills
• Knowledge of sedation monitoring and airway management
• Ability to recognize and respond to emergencies, including bleeding, respiratory compromise, and contrast reactions
• Strong critical-thinking, communication, documentation, and patient-education skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment

Responsibilities

• Review patient medical histories, laboratory results, medications, and relevant imaging
• Complete pre-procedure nursing assessments and confirm patient readiness
• Verify that required documentation and informed consent have been completed
• Educate patients and families about what to expect before and after the procedure
• Start IVs and administer medications as ordered
• Serve as the circulating nurse during interventional radiology procedures
• Assist the interventional radiologist and clinical team throughout procedures
• Continuously monitor vital signs, oxygenation, cardiac rhythm, and patient responsiveness
• Administer moderate sedation, analgesics, and other medications as ordered and permitted by applicable regulations
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Support infection-control practices and help maintain a safe procedural environment
• Respond promptly to changes in a patient’s condition
• Monitor patients throughout the recovery period
• Assess access and puncture sites for bleeding, hematoma, or other complications
• Manage pain, nausea, and other post-procedure symptoms
• Provide clear discharge instructions and patient education
• Confirm discharge criteria have been met before the patient leaves the facility
• Communicate concerns or changes in patient condition to the provider
