St. Joseph Medical Center in Houston, TX seeks a registered nurse to support general patient care and imaging procedures under a physician's direction. You will prepare patients for imaging, monitor during procedures, and document observations, ensuring safety and adherence to physician orders.

The role requires invasive radiology or general nursing experience, strong clinical judgment, and effective communication with radiology staff and patients. Shift: Fulltime Days.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience in invasive radiology or five years' experience in general nursing.
• Technical, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills to communicate with physicians, health team members, patients and families.
• Ability to prioritize work with minimal supervision, in order to independently carry out the duties of the position.
• Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsabilités

• Supports and communicates SJMC Mission, Vision and Values.
• Adheres to HIPAA guidelines to protect PHI.
• Promotes safety and prevents medical errors in a non-punitive environment.
• Prepares patients for procedures, notes medical history, screens patients, and ensures correct orders.
• Assists Radiologist/Physician during invasive procedures and prepares room and supplies.
• Performs routine nursing care and semi-complex treatments and maintains equipment.
• Responds to high-volume situations while maintaining accuracy and quality.
• Assesses patient condition and documents changes; maintains safety and radiation precautions.
• Maintains supply par levels and supports department compliance education.
