Job summary

LCMC Health's West Jefferson Medical Center in Louisiana seeks an experienced RN for our Interventional Radiology unit. You will coordinate care for scheduled and emergent procedures, perform pre-procedure assessments, start IVs, and monitor patients during and after procedures.

Requirements: a minimum of one year in acute-care nursing, a current Louisiana RN license, and current BLS and ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of recent acute-care nursing experience.
• Current Louisiana RN license.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Current American Heart Association ACLS certification.
• Preferred RN experience in Interventional Radiology or procedural environments.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and coordinate nursing care for patients undergoing scheduled and emergent interventional radiology procedures.
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments before procedures and communicate changes in patient condition to the care team.
• Establish and maintain IV access and provide direct nursing care during procedures.
• Monitor patients during and after procedures and provide recovery care according to department protocols.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide safe, effective, and compassionate patient care.
• Maintain a safe environment and follow infection-control, safety, and Joint Commission requirements.
• Safely care for patients in an environment where radiation-producing equipment is used.
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and address patient and family questions and concerns.
• Provide patient and family education and support continuity of care.
• Advocate for patients and contribute to a positive patient experience.
• Assist team members and communicate with supervisors when additional support is needed.
