Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD seeks an Interventional Procedure Nurse to join the Medical Imaging/Radiology Department. This part-time, rotating-shift position offers collaboration within an interdisciplinary team, delivery of evidence-based care, and a commitment to treating the whole person.

You will work closely with nurses and technicians, educate patients and families, document care, and ensure high-risk patients receive continuous attention.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program ADN required; BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State.
• BLS certification AHA; additional Life Support training as applicable to unit requirements preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in IR.

Responsibilities

• Using Quality Caring Model, demonstrates acceptable performance, and applies nursing process, to plan and manage care of routine patients, including patient and family education, and continuum of care planning.
• Effectively communicates fundamental patient/family information to health care team.
• Oversee patient care for individuals visiting the Interventional Radiology Department.
• Ensure that critical or high-risk patients receive continuous attention from qualified nursing or technical staff.
• Accurately document patient care and assessment data, including vital signs, patient status, treatments, education provided, assessment data, and administration and effectiveness of medication and IV therapy, on the appropriate nursing records.
• Educate patients and their families about procedures, treatments, and post-care instructions.
