Interventional Radiology (IR)/Cath Lab Technologist-Imaging- St. Elizabeth Hospital (PRN)

Join Bon Secours Mercy Health as an Interventional Radiology (IR)/Cath Lab Technologist-Imaging- St. Elizabeth Hospital (PRN).

Primary Function/General Purpose of Position: The Special Procedures and Cath Lab Technologist assists Licensed Practitioners in fluoroscopic and specialized interventional procedures, maintaining sterile technique. Responsibilities include preparing, administering, and documenting medications and radiation exposure in compliance with laws and policies.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Perform diagnostic vascular exams using ultrasound and physiologic testing equipment.
  • Prepare patients, explain procedures, and provide instructions to ensure cooperation and reduce anxiety.
  • Consult with referring physicians if exam orders seem incorrect.
  • Use electronic medical records to review patient info, document findings, and report critical results.
  • Complete tasks efficiently and adhere to safety, infection control, and confidentiality standards.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in non-invasive vascular exams, knowledge of vascular anatomy, and interpretation of results.
Licensing/Certification:
  • ARRT or CCI certification required.
  • BLS certification preferred upon hire; must obtain prior to patient care.
  • Additional certifications (ACLS, Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography, Vascular-Interventional Radiology) are preferred.
Education & Experience:
  • Associate's degree from an ARRT-accredited institute preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year radiology experience preferred.
Work Environment & Conditions:

May involve exposure to physical altercations, verbal abuse, hazardous substances, body fluids, blood, and radiation. Periods of interruptions are common. Use of protective equipment and adherence to infection control policies are mandatory.
