Jefferson Radiology, a Radiology Partners practice in the Greater Connecticut area, seeks an administrative professional to manage pre-visit coordination, scheduling, and insurance verification for Interventional Radiology procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred, medical assistant or clinical education preferred.
• Experience in a clinical setting such as a medical practice required.
• Basic knowledge of health insurance; prior authorization experience preferred.
• Problem solving and conflict resolution skills to address issues proactively.
• Strong verbal and written communication with patients, providers, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Organizes, prioritizes, and monitors daily work to ensure accurate chart prep and insurance authorization for Interventional Radiology procedures.
• Contact patients by phone to schedule procedures and verify demographics and insurance information.
• Maintain accurate documentation in systems and notes.
• Ensure pre-certification requirements are met timely and follow up on missing authorizations.
• Prepare patient charts with pre-procedure testing, H&P, consent, and physician orders.

Position Summary

• Organizes, prioritizes, and monitors daily work activity to ensure that complete, accurate, and compliant chart preparation and insurance authorization for Interventional Radiology procedures has been performed prior to expected visit
• Contact the patient/guarantor by phone when necessary to schedule procedure and obtain or verify all demographic and insurance information, making updates or corrections as appropriate
• Maintains acceptable accuracy and productivity rates. Documents all information in the appropriate system fields and/or account notes
• Assure that all pre-certification requirements for Interventional Radiology procedures are met on a timely basis. Assures notation has been made of authorization number and follows up on missing authorizations. Contacts patient and advise them of their financial responsibility 24 hours prior to service when authorization cannot be obtained
• Prepares the patient chart, including all necessary pre-procedure testing, History & Physicals, consent, and physician’s order in preparation for the patient’s arrival

Desired Professional Skills And Experience

• High School Diploma preferred, medical assistant or other clinical related education highly preferred
• Experience working in a clinical setting such as medical practice required
• Basic knowledge of health insurance; experience with prior authorization preferred
• Problem Solving & Conflict Resolution – Can identify and address problems before they become larger issues for customers or the organization.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, providers, and clinical staff

COMPENSATION & TOTAL REWARDS

The hourly range for this position is $22.00-$26.00 Final determinations may vary based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, geographic location etc. Final compensation is determined based on education, experience, certifications, and geographic factors.
