Job summary

AVIR is seeking a motivated Interventional Radiologist to join our growing practice serving Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. The position primarily operates at Johnson City Medical Center, a major Level I Trauma Center, within the Ballad Health system.

We offer a clinic-based IR model with a dedicated APP team, collaboration across Ballad Health facilities, and opportunities to expand programs while focusing on complex interventions and outpatient care.

Qualifications

• Board certification or eligibility in Interventional Radiology (ABR/AOBR).
• Eligible for Tennessee and Virginia medical licenses.
• Proficiency in the full range of IR procedures.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform a comprehensive range of interventional radiology procedures (oncology, GI, GU, PAD, MSK, biopsies).
• Opportunity to train in stroke thrombectomy with additional compensation for stroke call participation.
• IR call rotation limited to Johnson City Medical Center, shared 1:3-1:5 among physicians.
• Collaborate closely with APPs, physicians, and hospital teams to deliver high-quality care.
• Play an active role in service line expansion, education, and clinical innovation.
