Job summary

Appalachian Vascular and Interventional Radiology (AVIR) seeks an experienced Interventional Radiologist to grow a clinic‑based IR practice serving Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. The role centers on complex interventions with APP support, spanning multiple Ballad Health facilities.

The ideal candidate will train in advanced stroke thrombectomy, participate in a 1:3–1:5 on‑call rotation, and collaborate across teams to expand programs while delivering high‑quality, minimally invasive

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Interventional Radiology (ABR or AOBR).
• Eligible for Tennessee and Virginia medical licenses.

Responsibilities

• Perform a comprehensive range of IR procedures across oncology, GI, GU, vascular, trauma embolization, biopsies and drainages.
• Opportunity to train in stroke thrombectomy with additional compensation for stroke call participation.
• IR call rotation limited to one site (Johnson City Medical Center), shared 1:3–1:5 among physicians.
• Collaborate closely with APPs, physicians, and hospital teams to deliver coordinated, high‑quality care.
• Play an active role in service line expansion, education, and clinical innovation.
