PRACTICE OVERVIEW

We are a rapidly growing, outpatient-based endovascular practice in Los Angeles specializing in advanced embolization and vascular interventions. Our practice focuses on embolization procedures, including uterine artery embolization (UAE), prostate artery embolization (PAE), genicular artery embolization (GAE) and other musculoskeletal (MSK) embolization procedures; complex peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and critical limb ischemia (CLI) interventions; superficial and deep venous disease interventions; and dialysis access maintenance interventions.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a full-time, fellowship-trained Interventional Radiologist to join our growing practice. The Interventional Radiologist provides full-time, 100% interventional radiology services in a dynamic outpatient environment. The physician evaluates patients in clinic, performs advanced endovascular and embolization procedures, provides longitudinal follow-up care, leads and collaborates with the clinical team, supports standardized workflows and best practices, and contributes to practice development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Advanced Embolization & Procedural Care

• Perform advanced outpatient embolization procedures, including prostate artery embolization (PAE), uterine artery embolization (UAE), genicular artery embolization (GAE), and other musculoskeletal (MSK) embolization procedures
• Evaluate procedural indications, treatment options, and patient readiness and develop appropriate procedural plans.
• Provide pre‑procedure, intra‑procedure, and post‑procedure physician care in a high‑quality outpatient clinical environment.
• Maintain proficiency in advanced embolization techniques and evidence‑based procedural best practices.

Venous, Arterial & Dialysis Access Interventions

• Perform complex peripheral arterial revascularization procedures, including care for peripheral arterial disease and critical limb ischemia.
• Perform superficial and deep venous interventions.
• Perform dialysis access maintenance interventions.

Outpatient Evaluation & Longitudinal Care

• Conduct outpatient consultations and follow‑up visits, including medical history, physical examination, imaging and record review, and clinical assessment.
• Provide outpatient clinical management and longitudinal patient care before and after procedures.
• Assess symptoms, medications, allergies, laboratory results, imaging, and procedure‑related risk factors relevant to safe care.
• Recognize post‑procedure concerns or complications and arrange appropriate evaluation, treatment, or escalation.
• Respond to patient questions and coordinate timely evaluation and follow‑up.

Patient Communication & Care Coordination

• Deliver exceptional patient care and communication throughout the procedural experience.
• Educate patients and families about the diagnosis, proposed procedure or treatment, available options, preparation requirements, expected recovery, and next steps.
• Explain procedural indications, alternatives, benefits, risks, and follow‑up plans in clear, patient‑friendly language.
• Coordinate referrals, records, scheduling needs, follow‑up appointments, and communication among patients, physicians, and clinical staff.

Patient Safety, Quality & Compliance

• Support standardized clinical workflows and best practices across the program.
• Follow organizational policies, patient‑safety standards, confidentiality requirements, and applicable clinical and regulatory requirements.
• Use appropriate radiation‑protection, infection‑prevention, and personal protective equipment practices.
• Complete clear, accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical and procedural documentation.
• Participate in peer review, quality improvement, patient‑safety activities, and required professional development.

Team Leadership & Service Excellence

• Lead and collaborate with the on‑site clinical team, including technologists, nurses, and clinical coordinators.
• Communicate respectfully and effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Support safe handoffs, reliable follow‑through, and continuity across the patient‑care episode.
• Model professionalism, accountability, service excellence, and a culture of trust and mutual respect.

Practice Development & Workflow Improvement

• Contribute actively to practice development and the long‑term growth of the outpatient interventional radiology program.
• Help refine clinical workflows, program standards, and best practices as services expand.
• Adapt to changes in patient needs, procedure volume, and daily workflow while maintaining quality and safety.
• Perform other physician duties and support clinical or quality‑improvement initiatives as assigned.

SUCCESS MEASURES

• Advanced embolization, venous, arterial, and dialysis access procedures are performed safely, effectively, and in accordance with high‑quality outpatient standards.
• Consultations, pre‑procedure evaluations, post‑procedure follow‑up, and longitudinal patient care are completed accurately and on time.
• Patients and families receive clear, respectful communication and understand the procedure, preparation requirements, recovery plan, and next steps.
• The physician provides reliable leadership and collaborates effectively with technologists, nurses, clinical coordinators, and other team members.
• Standardized workflows, best practices, quality improvement, practice development, and program growth are supported consistently.

Requirements:

• Fellowship training in interventional radiology.
• American Board of Radiology board certification or board eligibility in interventionalradiology (or Diagnostic Radiology with IR/VIR CAQ, as applicable).
• Active California medical license or eligibility for California licensure.
• Ability and willingness to maintain all required medical licensure, credentialing, and certifications.
• Excellent patient communication skills and a strong outpatient‑care mindset.
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills in a procedural clinical environment.
• Experience with PAE, UAE, GAE, and other MSK embolization procedures.

Preferred but not required:

• Experience with superficial and deep venous interventions.
• Experience with complex peripheral arterial revascularization, including peripheral arterial disease and critical limb ischemia.
• Experience with dialysis access maintenance interventions.
• Demonstrated interest or experience in outpatient practice development and standardized workflow improvement.
