Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Texas seeks a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (IR) to perform complex vascular and non-vascular interventional procedures.

Responsibilities include working under the Diagnostic Imaging Service within the STVHCS and coordinating with radiologists on contrast administration and patient care. The role requires ARRT certification, advanced ARRT where applicable, and a strong foundation in digital imaging and PACS.

Qualifications

• Must be certified in general radiologic technology by the ARRT (R).
• Advanced ARRT certification required for CT/MRI/Mammography duties where applicable.
• Completion of a 24-month post-high school diagnostic radiologic technology program accredited by JRCERT or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assists radiologists in highly complex diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures.
• Operates fluoroscopic imaging systems and related equipment; administers contrast media as directed.
• Reviews and screens patient records and ensures valid consent and appropriate precautions.
• Maintains ARRT registration and keeps knowledge current with field developments.
• Trains and supervises backup personnel and student technologists.
