Position Overview

The Interventional Radiology Technician assists radiologists, vascular surgeons, and other providers in performing minimally invasive procedures using imaging guidance. They operate specialized equipment, support patient care, ensure safety, and collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Employment Details

Type: Full-time

Schedule: Monday - Friday, with staggered start times between 7:00am - 8:00am, ending at 5:30pm. Call once a week from 5:30pm to 7:00am, and one weekend call every 4 weeks from Friday 5:30pm to Monday 7:00am.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the interventional radiology suite and equipment.
• Verify patient identity and procedure details.
• Assist in patient positioning and education.
• Operate imaging equipment and adjust parameters.
• Assist during procedures, maintain sterile technique, and monitor patient vital signs.
• Document procedures and patient responses accurately.
• Ensure equipment functionality and troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Communicate effectively with team members and participate in training.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certificate in Radiologic Technology.
• Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) or Radiology Technician (RTT).
• Preferred: Certification in Interventional Radiology (CIIP).
• New York State Department of Health License with intravascular contrast injection (can be added upon hire).

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Clinical setting with exposure class I. Medium physical activity involving standing, walking, sitting, lifting, and pushing.

Additional Information
