The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is seeking a Full-Time Interventional Radiographer for the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine!

The position is 40 hours per week with the following schedule: Monday-Friday, 10am-6:30pm. Must be able to work on call weekdays, weekends, and holidays. On-call every 15th weekend.

Penn Radiology provides patients and physicians with a full range of cutting-edge imaging techniques and specialized expertise. Compassionate, patient-centered services are available at many convenient locations throughout the Philadelphia region.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  1. Greeting patients, identifying oneself, and interacting to gain trust and support.
  2. Explaining procedures to patients and their families.
  3. Preparing patients for procedures according to protocols.
  4. Practicing proper sterile technique during procedures.
  5. Adapting roles to meet or exceed customer needs through quality care and service.
  6. Taking patient vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rate.
  7. Reviewing procedure aftercare with patients and families.
  8. Performing procedures consistent with section protocols.
  9. Monitoring patient status, tolerance, well-being, and safety throughout and after procedures.
  10. Verifying patient identity and preparation for procedures.
  11. Aiding radiologists, doctors, and team members in completing procedures according to protocols.
  12. Responding to emergency situations per department/hospital policies.

Credentials:

  • ARRT Certification (Required)
  • Basic Life Support (Required)

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent required.
  • Satisfactory completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Two or more years' experience in radiology preferred. Interventional Radiology experience preferred.
