Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Georgia seeks an entry-level Interventional Radiology Technologist to perform diagnostic and interventional procedures, ensuring patient safety and quality image production. You will participate in post-processing, documentation, and adherence to radiation safety standards.

The role requires graduation from an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT-accredited training, with ARDMS/ARRT certification and BCLS upon hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program.
• No experience required.
• ARDMS or ARRT registration upon hire; BCLS upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures including angiography, venography, myelography, nephro-ureteral and GI studies.
• Complete post-processing and record keeping; follow established protocols for adolescent to geriatric patients.
• Position patients, select correct protocol, and operate imaging equipment.
• Maintain competencies and follow imaging protocols.
• Provide patient education and communication.

Responsibilities:

Performs diagnostic and interventional procedures to include but not limited to: angiography, venography, myelography, nephro-ureteral, and gastrointestinal studies, and modality assisted drainage and biopsies. Completes all post processing functions. Performs related record keeping and patient care functions. Ensures the utilization of established protocols and techniques differentiating for adolescent, adult and geriatric patient population in the performance of diagnostic procedures and functions.

• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all interventional radiology procedures on patients of all age groups. Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all required equipment.
• Maintains competencies for all related components.
• Accurately follows all established imaging protocols for exam being performed.
• Provides quality age specific care in accordance with prescribed standards and practices.
• Adhere to the Radiation Safety Policies and the principles of a viable dose reduction program.
• Provides patient education and communications in accordance with prescribed standards.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.
