Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist specialized in interventional radiology to perform diagnostic and interventional procedures, equipment setup, and patient care across age groups. Join a team dedicated to high-quality imaging and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or a JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program.
• No prior experience required (MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: None).
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (R), and BLS certification as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures including angiography, venography, myelography, nephro-ureteral and GI studies.
• Performs post-processing functions and maintains patient care records.
• Adheres to established imaging protocols for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
• Maintains competencies across all interventional radiology procedures.
• Positions patients, selects protocols, and operates required imaging equipment.
• Provides patient education and communicates in line with standards.
• Supports radiation safety and dose reduction initiatives.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Performs diagnostic and interventional procedures to include but not limited to: angiography, venography, myelography, nephro-ureteral, and gastrointestinal studies, and modality assisted drainage and biopsies.
Completes all post processing functions. Performs related record keeping and patient care functions. Ensures the utilization of established protocols and techniques differentiating for adolescent, adult and geriatric patient population in the performance of diagnostic procedures and functions.

• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all interventional radiology procedures on patients of all age groups. Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all required equipment.
• Maintains competencies for all related components.
• Accurately follows all established imaging protocols for exam being performed.
• Provides quality age specific care in accordance with prescribed standards and practices.
• Adhere to the Radiation Safety Policies and the principles of a viable dose reduction program.
• Provides patient education and communications in accordance with prescribed standards.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:

Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (R).
BLS Certified

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Advance Certification by ARRT in Vascular-Interventional Radiographer (VI) or Cardiac Interventional Radiographer (CI) preferred.
