Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Georgia is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist to perform diagnostic and interventional procedures, including angiography and venography, with attention to adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. The role emphasizes image quality, Protocol adherence, and compassionate patient care.

You will ensure radiation safety, assist with post-processing, and provide patient education while following ARRT standards.

Qualifications

• > Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program.
• • ARRT registration and BLS certification are required.
• • Prefer Advance ARRT in VI or CI.
• • No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures including angiography and venography.
• Completes post-processing functions and keeps accurate records.
• Adheres to established imaging protocols for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Maintains radiation safety and dose reduction practices.
• Provides patient education and communicates effectively with patients and families.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Performs diagnostic and interventional procedures to include but not limited to: angiography, venography, myelography, nephro-ureteral, and gastrointestinal studies, and modality assisted drainage and biopsies.
Completes all post processing functions. Performs related record keeping and patient care functions. Ensures the utilization of established protocols and techniques differentiating for adolescent, adult and geriatric patient population in the performance of diagnostic procedures and functions.

• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all interventional radiology procedures on patients of all age groups. Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all required equipment.
• Maintains competencies for all related components.
• Accurately follows all established imaging protocols for exam being performed.
• Provides quality age specific care in accordance with prescribed standards and practices.
• Adhere to the Radiation Safety Policies and the principles of a viable dose reduction program.
• Provides patient education and communications in accordance with prescribed standards.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:

Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (R).
BLS Certified

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Advance Certification by ARRT in Vascular-Interventional Radiographer (VI) or Cardiac Interventional Radiographer (CI) preferred.
