Job summary

Loyal Source Government Services is seeking full-time Board Certified Interventional Cardiology Physicians for on-site care at the San Francisco VA Medical Center. The Cardiology Physician will diagnose and treat cardiovascular diseases on-site for the VAMC in San Francisco, CA, providing services to veterans.

Qualifications

• Active, current licensure as a professional nurse in the state, District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.
• Minimum of two (2) years of relevant clinical experience.
• Evidence of training and demonstrated competence in airway management, moderate sedation, and fluoroscopy.
• Board Certification in Emergency Medicine or Internal Medicine, with Board Certification in Cardiovascular Disease and Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Interventional Cardiology.
• DEA Registration.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of cardiologists, surgeons, APPs, nurses, and lab technologists.
• Provide consultative services for cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures, including balloon angioplasty, atherectomy, stenting, IVUS, Doppler flow velocity measurements.
• Provide discharge education and follow-up instructions coordinated with the next care setting.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and meetings as required.

Job description

Loyal Source Government Services is looking for full-time Board Certified Interventional Cardiology Physicians at the San Francisco VAMC.

Job Summary: The Cardiology Physician will have experience with the diagnosis and invasive treatment of cardiovascular diseases on site for the VAMC in San Francisco, CA. The physician will be providing services to veterans.

Duties

• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team of cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, advanced practice providers, nurses, and cardiac catheterization laboratory technologists
• Providing cardiology and interventional cardiology consultative services for cardiac catheterization and interventional cardiology procedures, including, but not limited:
  • Pericardiocentesis
  • endocardial biopsies
  • placement of intra-aortic balloon devices
  • and percutaneous revascularization procedures, including:
    • balloon angioplasty
    • atherectomy
    • endoluminal stenting
    • intravascular ultrasound
    • intra-coronary Doppler flow velocity measurements
    • rhyolitic thrombectomy
    • management of patients prior to, during, and following their percutaneous revascularization procedure, high risk coronary and peripheral vascular percutaneous procedures.
• Provide discharge education and follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all emergency department patients.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and meetings with committee participation as required by the facility Chief of Service, Chief of Staff, or designee.

Qualifications

• A current BLS and ACLS certificate by the American Heart Association is required.
• Must hold an active, current licensure as a professional nurse in the state, District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.
• A minimum of two (2) years of relevant clinical experience
• Evidence of training and demonstrated competence in airway management, moderate sedation, and fluoroscopy.
• Board Certification in Emergency Medicine or Internal Medicine, with Board Certification in Cardiovascular Disease and Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Interventional Cardiology
• DEA Registration

Schedule

• Monday through Friday 8am to 4:30pm
• Available on-call during all hours when the facility clinic is closed, including evenings, weekends and holidays. This call is STEMI Call which is shared with the Academic Affiliate (UCSF). On-call contractor’s physician(s) must be available at all times for phone consultations with VA residents and physicians, as well as overnight shared STEMI Coverage
