The cardiologist will practice in our Abingdon, Virginia location. Ballad CVA Heart Institute is composed of over 40 cardiologists, including non-invasive, interventional with PV skills, vascular surgery, electrophysiology, CT surgery and thoracic surgery as well as over 35 physician extenders. The practice is nationally recognized and leads our region's cardiovascular care. We have a forward-thinking organization consisting of leading-edge physicians and providers in all aspects of cardiovascular care. Our state-of-the-art system of care in cardiovascular disease includes the state's only regional STEMI transfer program, active research with publications in major journals, including NEJM, and fully developed vascular and structural heart programs.
This is a full-time position with an existing, established, stable group. Qualified candidates will be based in clinic located in Abingdon, Virginia and work within the Johnston Memorial Hospital Cath Lab, which is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. The group will consist of one Invasive Cardiologist, two Interventional Cardiologists, Nurse Practitioners and an excellent staff. Additional support as required can be provided. Johnston Memorial Hospital is a 116-bed modern medical facility located in Abingdon, Virginia. Built in 2011, it's the first "green" hospital in Southwest Virginia certified by LEED and Energy Star. The facility offers a wide range of services, including a 24-hour interventional cardiology program, critical care services, diagnostic imaging services, emergency services, a family birth center with a full-time pediatric hospitalist team, women's services, laboratory services with direct access testing, outpatient rehabilitation services, palliative care, a sleep center and surgical services including an Outpatient Surgery Center.
